Spud Stamps
February 5, 2012 in Made by Mom
To make these fun stamps, all you need are a few plain old spuds.
All you have to do is cut ‘em in half, etch out a design with the tip of your knife or a pen…
…and then cut away the negative space. It will look something like this:
Smear some paint on a tray or paper plate…and get stamping!
Per Josiah’s request, I carved out a 3…
a J…
…and a diamond (yup, that is the one shape he requested).
In the past, we have also used squares, circles, triangles…
…and stars:
Today, I made three different shapes of hearts in honor of Valentines Day.
And Josiah helped me mix up a few shades of pink and red to dip them in.
Besides being about the cheapest creative medium I can think of, I actually think the potato imparts some pretty nice texture:
So find your favorite preschooler, and get stamping!
