My name is Alisha…but around here, I go by “mom.” I am Josiah’s mom (he is 2 1/2) and Selah’s mom (she’s still brand new). .
SnugasaBugBaby is the place where I share tips I’ve come across and mistakes I’ve made in the hope that you won’t need to make the same ones. I’ll share “how to”s like how to make your own baby food, how to make finger paint with cornstarch, how to make your own play-doh, or how to make a custom set of building blocks. I’ve written a whole series about how we got our son to sleep through the night…and hope to soon share how we got him to use the “big boy” potty, as well. I’ll also share my thoughts on diapers, sippy cups, baby-proofing, playgrounds, and how to make sure you never lose another booty again.
SnugasaBugBaby is also a place for me to share milestones (like weekly pregnancy photos) and mommy musings of all sorts…like how fun it is to watch Josiah trying to do everything I do, the 4-minute delivery story of my Selah Mae , and the way I pray for our children whom we haven’t yet met. I’ll also share with you some of the many things I am learning about life, love, and the LORD from my little ones: like really understanding that God is there even when I can’t see him, what a great sacrifice God made in sending his son to die for us, and how much joy my Heavenly Father takes in my learning to toddle by faith. I am doing my best to be perfectly transparent and entirely real…sharing when God tells me “it’s enough,” letting you in on the ways I tend to make Josiah bigger than God, and inviting you on a tour of my home when it is a disaster.
What else might you expect to find on SnugasaBugBaby? Well, after throwing us a baby gender reveal party that was the talk of the town around here, my sister also guest-posted a whole series on throwing your own baby gender reveal party. I love to breathe new life into old things and have shared a few “repurposing” projects: like these patchwork pants, and this graduation quilt (both made from old t-shirts). I’ve been known to share a recipe or two: like incredible peach pie and mud pie to make with your toddler. I also love the share the many ways we are continuing in the process of making our house a home. Last year, our major project was our bathroom remodel. This year, we are working on what I have termed our “big bedroom swap around:” turning the guest bedroom into the master bedroom, the nursery into the sewing room, and our old master bedroom into the kid’s room/guestroom. .
I am currently a full-time stay at home mommy, and I love it. In order to make it possible for me to stay home with my kids AND pay our bills, I started SnugasaBugBaby.etsy.com : my own online boutique featuring handmade creations of all sorts. My shop is currently small, but growing…and I have all sorts of ideas bouncing around in my head that I am looking forward to putting into production! Each time I create something new, this is where I’ll share it with you! So hop on over to my portfolio page to see a round up of some of the things I have made, or to my etsy shop to see my items which are currently for sale. I also love custom orders…so contact me to let me know what I might be able to create for you!
